This episode features a selection of 'classic' prog and some artists that we feel fit the prog mode without actually declaring themselves as such.

This exponent of the tenor saxophone is credited with moving the insturmrnt out of a supporting role and into the spotlight in it's own right. he was also a supporter of 'modern' jazz although he came from the age of 'trad' jazz. We showcase both standards and songs written by the man and begin the show with the work he became best known for, Body and Soul.

His delicacy of tone was such that Miles Davis sought him out to play on the epochal album Kind Of Blue. We showcase his work with both small combos (which he was primarily known for) and as part of a larger band. He might not be trying to shake you up, but he will surely move you.

Hosted by Eddie and Glen. On This episode of the Audio Archive I celebrate the 7000th entry in my music catalogue, Roxy Music's second album For Your Pleasure. The influence of Roxy Music cannot be overstated, just count the number of New Wave frontmen that took their inspiration in look and sound from Bryan Ferry, or the originality of Brian Eno's work with early synthesisers. A whole hour of brilliantly crafted songs, for your pleasure!

Audio Archive 23-06-2022 - Two Great Guitarists( 0:54:35)
Episode Information
Hosted by Matt and Eddie. This week we bring you a pair of massively talented guitarists who (we feel) don't get the plaudits that they should. From the UK we bring Robin Trower, who played guitar for Procol Harum and has had a long career playing rock and blues primarily using a fender Stratocaster. Our other guitarist could not be more different. Roy Buchanan was an American country-bluesman who employed the Fender Telecaster. He never ache9ived stardom and died tragically young.

Audio Archive 16-06-2022 - The Button-Down Mind Of Bob Newhart (and Guests)( 0:50:14)
Episode Information
Hosted by Eddie. It's been a while since I did a comedy show so here we go! Bob Newhart is a great American comedian. I remember him from a TV Sitcom ('The Bob Newhart Show'). He combined surreal material with a deadpan delivery. On this show I play a selection of his skits along with other material by Sytan Freberg and Nichols and May. Listen to some unusual American comedy from the post-WW2 era; dry, surreal and erudite.
