Hastings Riding for the Disabled

RDA Hastings is based at the Joan Fernie Centre in Murdoch Road East, Hastings. We provide therapeutic riding opportunities to facilitate the training and rehabilitation of disabled and disadvantaged children in the Hawke’s Bay area. Disabled children can benefit hugely from participation in our programme physically, mentally and emotionally. Skills learnt are transferable into rehabilitation and training aspects of daily living. Riding and interaction with horses and ponies, motivates people to achieve independence and their personal goals. We ride throughout the school term Tuesday to Friday. Our indoor arena is available to hire outside of our riding times. We are always in need of volunteers if you would like to be involved, please get in touch.
